Goal of presentation is for attendees better understand and identify unaccompanied children and immigrant children and families in care, to think strategically about screening and identification of immigration remedies early in the process and make appropriate referrals to assist in permanency, reunification, or increase options for kin care. Attendees will receive information asylum, SIJ, VAWA, T and U visa, as well as screening questions and a discussion of culturally humble and trauma-informed practices when working with this population. Attendees will be empowered to make referrals to immigration legal service providers and to better access community support services.
